Still drawing and colouring!

It has been years since I posted.

So what happened?

Well, art blogs started to fall out of fashion. My peers started moving to Instagram and Facebook. It seemed artists preferred a visual platform like Instagram, and it meant they didn't have to be writing a blog...

That was part of it and I also really wanted to pause my art career. I decided to reduce the amount of classes I taught. I stopped offering a how-to newsletter. I took a break from exhibitions.

I wanted to focus on art making, so I did.

I also wanted to focus on our life on our hobby farm - growing food, and raising chickens and enjoying our goats. There were also other things going on during those years that needed my time and attention.

Finally in 2019, I started thinking about venturing out from my studio hibernation...maybe, just maybe it was time to build a new website and get back into teaching classes. I began checking out venues other than my studio for classes, so I could teach larger groups.

And then Covid happened. The reality of living in a pandemic made it clear that studio tours, exhibitions and in-person teaching were going to paused for a couple of years.

At least I had lots of studio time. As an introvert, I enjoyed the quiet lifestyle that was forced upon us. Maybe this was something to consider - early retirement!?!

Or maybe not.๐Ÿ˜

Here I am in 2024, itching to get back in the game. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Early retirement turned out to be a bit boring!

So...I am blowing the dust off my FB page AND I have just created an Instagram site. instagram.com/teresamallenstudio_

I am also creating a new website.

My intention is to move blogging to my new website. I hope if anyone finds there way here, from back in the day, that they will be keen to move to my new art/life journal.

I will post the link here once that site is ready. In the meantime, it feels very good to be back in action on the internet. I have art and words to share.

If you are one of my followers, well God Bless! How the heck are you? How have you been these past years? Anyone else been busy making art?

Thanks for stopping by and reading.๐Ÿงก
