CPSA acceptance, signature status

Neptune's Leaves, Coloured Pencil on Colourfix Paper, 21 1/2"w x 16 1/2"h
Copyright Teresa Mallen

I am delighted to announce that Neptune's Leaves has been juried into the CPSA's 2010 International Exhibition. With this acceptance, I have earned my CPSA signature status! Of course my art has to actually hang in the show in order to fulfill the organization's requirements - acceptance isn't enough. Some of you might remember how last year my painting almost missed the shipping deadline because it was being held by customs officials. Yes, lightning does strike twice, but not real often, right?

The Colored Pencil Society of America's 18th Annual International Exhibition will take place at the Art Museum of Los Gatos California from July 22 until August 20th, 2010. For complete details and a list of the accepted artists, visit the CPSA website.

Congratulations to all of the other artists whose work has been juried into this prestigious coloured pencil exhibition!

And if this news wasn't exciting enough, I just made arrangements this morning to purchase two dairy goats. I shall be adding milk maid to my resume by the end of the week! Here is my husband with one of our ladies...oh and my flock of 25 day-old chicks arrives on Wednesday. Art, chickens and goats - life is very very good!

Congratulations on the acceptance, AND the signature status!! Wowee. That's big.

And the goats and chickens too. Golly. Will we be seeing some new "baah" and "cluck" themed pieces in your portfolio in the future, I wonder?
:~)

Congratulations! I do love Neptune's Leaves; so beautiful. Methinks you are a braver woman than I...chickens and goats and art? Oh my! LOL

Fabulous news! Juried in and signature status. Good for you!

And goats and chickens as well. I haven't had goats come to stay yet, so I'll be watching your adventures and learning before I jump into things.

Chickens however, I know about. So does every other creature who wants to turn them into lunch as well! Which is why I don't have them right now. Perhaps a few egg layers this year again, still not sure.

Congratulations Teresa! I really like this piece! And signature status as well! Are you still dancing in the clouds?

Goats and chickens too! You must have had some fantastic day!

Will you be going to the convention?

Teresa Mallen said...

Thany you so much Gemma. Oh, if only Los Gatos were closer to Ottawa...

C.D, thank you! Yes, livestock art, my new niche market?!? LOL

A.L. - braver, humm...maybe just more daft? :-) Thanks for you lovely comment.

Thank you Jeanette. Yes predators are definitely a concern here. I think we will try a moveable 'chicken tractor' pen once they are out of the brooder. That way they will enjoy fresh pasture while still being protected from all of the creatures that want to eat them.

Hi Dianna, yes still cloud dancing? You? Congratulations to you too!! Yes it was a fantastic day - hubby topped it off with a dozen yellow roses and dinner out! Still trying to decide about California. Are you going? Michigan isn't exactly close either! :-)

Congratulations! What terrific news!
Goats and chickens too, you will be busy! I just finished reading a book about goats called Goat Song by Brad Kessler and then had to try goat cheese for the first time - yummy stuff!

Felicity Grace said...

Many congratulations Teresa! I saw the announcement on Making a Mark and knew your name would be there! :) Gosh, where do you find the time?! You must be a very busy and organised lady!!

Teresa Mallen said...

Oh Ann isn't Goat Song a fabulous book? Loved it. Have a copy. Just reread it! LOL Thanks for you kind words.

Hello Felicity, thank you! You 'knew'? Well now that is a very kind thing to say. Goodness, I sure had my doubts!! I am so organized it would probably scare you, I don't watch TV or read newspapers and I don't seem to sleep much these days. So there you go, lots of time for livestock! :-) Seriously though, I have simply made it a priority to stuff my life with as much of the 'meaningful to me' things as I can and somehow it all works out. Oh and I have a husband who builds fences and such. Would be a lot harder to do without him! Thanks for stopping by.

Congrats! It's gorgeous! I'm back to working on more pieces myself but have been up and down with my health so dropped my artwork for the last few months unfortunately.
